Summary: Entertaining
Comment: This is a pretty entertaining read. I liked most of the characters and look forward to seeing more of them in the future (apparently this is the start of a new series/trilogy). The pace of the book varies some (going quickly and then slowing down) but it isn't unpleasant.

I will say the big suspense/mystery part fell a bit flat for me. The bad guy was a bit weak - he was too one dimensional or something. But other than that I quite enjoyed the book. All in all I'd recommend it, just don't bank on a huge mystery.

Summary: Book One of the Sisterhood Diaries Trilogy
Comment: This was a fun chic-lit romance novel with a twist of little mystery. Jane and Dev have a love-hate relationship which is always fun when that explosed. Dev has return home to work in the family construction business and Jane and her friend hire his business to work on their newly inherited Wolcott Mansion. The mystery is not a mystery for the reader more of plot twist but it works. Looking forward to her next novel Bending the Rules, (due out July 2009) book two of the Sisterhood Diaries Trilogy (Poppy's story).

If you are looking for light chic-lit romance this would be worth your money; I would also suggest; Not Another Bad Date (Avon Romance), Into Thin Air (Signet Eclipse), Her Perfect Revenge, Falling For Gracie.

Summary: the book girl reviews Cutting Loose
Comment: I liked this book, but I was very irritated at Jane for at least half of the book. Jane comes across very uptight and not very friendly. It was hard to see her as the romantic lead. About halfway through the book that changed. I saw that she was really a worthy love interest and she just had a little more depth than the average female main character. Devlin is sex-on-a-stick from the very beginning. These two characters have an undeniable chemistry, and they both fight it. I love that neither one wants to want the other and they have to deal with that. Cutting Loose also deals with family and how our family shapes the person we become. In Jane's case a family of drama and hysterics has led to her life of order and calm. Dev's families intrusive behavior has led to him living on another continent. The author does a very good job of showing the different family dynamics. This book was a great read and I can't wait for the next book!

Editorial Reviews:

Jane thinks nothing can make her lose her cool

But the princess of propriety blows a gasket the night she meets the contractor restoring the Wolcott mansion. Devlin Kavanagh's rugged sex appeal may buckle her knees, but the man is out of control! Jane had to deal with theatrics growing up—she won't tolerate them in someone hired to work on the house she and her two best friends have just inherited.

Dev could renovate the mansion in his sleep. But ever since the prissy owner spotted him jet-lagged, exhausted and hit hard by a couple of welcome-home drinks, she's been on his case. Yet there's something about her. Jane hides behind conservative clothes and a frosty manner, but her seductive blue eyes and leopard-print heels hint at a woman just dying to cut loose!
