Customer Rating: Summary: Poor DVD quality Comment: The first and last thirds of the movie are Ok -- not great quality -- but the middle third hangs up time after time. You must fast forward to get it past the "bad spot" and then resume watching. But you can't go back and watch or listen to the piece that you've missed or it hangs up (freezes) again. Customer Rating: Summary: A great musical! Comment: This is a great movie. I got my husband to watch it with me and he couldn't believe how much fun it was. Give it a try. You won't regret it. Customer Rating: Summary: Pretty poor CD Comment: CD worked for half the movie then nothing. Repeated attempts to play were fruitless. Nothing. Customer Rating: Summary: Music Man Comment: The Music Man, of course, is a fantastic movie and the movie itself is excellent. However, I was not happy about the delivery time. I had ordered it on a Wed., and paid the extra for faster delivery. I was told the 'estimated' delivery would be Friday, but didn't get arrive at the house until Tuesday. I have never had this happen with Amazon. I was disappointed because I had wanted it no later than Saturday because it was a gift. Customer Rating: Summary: 2nd best family movie musical in the world Comment: After "Singin in the Rain", "The Music Man" is the best all family musical from 4 year olds to 44 yr olds to 104 yr olds. What makes a smile stay on your face for 2 hrs of movie watching and carry with you throughout the next 24 hours and gives you a joyful approach to the day better than humming or singing "76 Trombones"? Watching young Ron Howard and the legendary Robert Preston in the same movie is a real treat. The movie actually expands the show by dimension not change of story or format.
What can I say? I have loved this movie and show since it came out and found great joy in introducing it to my grandkids (instead of more animation and "made for kids" movies) and they (to my delight) loved it too.
Meredith Willson's Broadway play is brought to the screen in this musical featuring Preston as Professor Harold Hill, a con artist whose schemes are unmasked by the lovely librarian, Marian (Jones). Genre: Musicals Rating: G Release Date: 1-JUN-2004 Media Type: DVD
