Customer Rating: Summary: Cd ok but huge crack in cover Comment: Luckily the cd itself was ok, but it is apparent that the crack in the case was there before shipping, and it was sent anyways. The cd was a gift, so I was a little emabarrased by the appearance.
Customer Rating: Summary: Eddie and the Cruisers Comment: This has always been one of my favorite movies. I love the soundtrack to it. I tried to order it from other places, but they didn't have it. I found it on Amazon and I was able to order it hassle free. I recieved it within a few days of ordering it and my 13 year old son wants to watch it all the time. He now wants Eddie and the Cruisers part 2. I will be ordering it from Amazon also.
Customer Rating: Summary: eddie & the cruisers soundtrack Comment: This is a fantastic album. It has arrived in great condition and is played almost everyday. I would recommend this cd to anyone with a bit of rock in there soul.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Summer Drive Along The Boardwalk Comment: The 1983 movie has become a cult classic, thanks to VH-1 & DVD, and the soundtrack keeps on truckin' due to the FM rock anthem, On The Dark Side.
John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band bounce along the musical path forged by Bruce Spingsteen, but without the passionate lyrics that made "The Boss" a true star.
With poetic-sounding song titles from the summertime like Tender Years, Boardwalk Angel and These Oldies But Goodies (Remind Me Of You), the soundtrack does capture the flavor of a fictional band - Eddie and the Cruisers - who are poised to graduate from the bars to the national spotlight...until tragedy strikes.
But - in the category of art imitating life - the highlight for the real and fictional bands is the sizzling sounds from Michael "Tunes" Antunes. On The Dark Side may be the lure, but his tenor sax solos are a timeless treat.
Customer Rating: Summary: R & R Movie Comment: ALways liked the music in this "B" movie (Aren't all Rock and Roll movies, "B" movies? Except for, possibly, "The Girl Can't Help It".)
Never quite understood why John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Vand never quite made the A List. Good, solid , straight forward Rock and Roll. Better production values and better music than many bands/artists in this genre that did make it.

This modest early '80s hit film about a fictional '60s rock icon who mysteriously disappears (or does he?) took its lead from similar legends surrounding the death of Jim Morrison. Its succesful soundtrack arose from an even more surreal brew of art and commerce. Then-journeyman musician John Cafferty and his Beaver Brown Band essentially became the, er, "real" Eddie and the Cruisers, with actor Michael Pare lip-synching the vocals, and other actors miming their parts. Cafferty and crew supply what was then a fair approximation of the Springsteen Sensibility--wall-of-sound bar rock with overreaching lyrics and grab-your-throat vocals. Not half-bad--if you like that sort of thing. --Jerry McCulley
