Comment: I purchased the 8X42 Monarchs for my wife to use on a trip to Svalbard in Arctic Norway. Her eyesight is not good and she had problems finding things in our other binoculars - perhaps too powerful. The 8X42 Monarchs worked flawlessly - she was able to enjoy polar bears, walruses and other wildlife at a distance. They maded a significant contribution to the enjoyment of her trip!

Comment: i am truly impressed by this product. i have been an avid birder/bird watcher for years. not until i bought the Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42 Waterproof Binocular did i realize that i was out in the field with less than adequate binoculars. the clarity is phenomenal. i am able to spot birds quickly with less focusing. i truly recommend this binoculars to anyone interested in wildlife viewing.

Comment: I already have a 5 yr old monarch and I love it. This new one has a new lense covering that can be kept on or off but the lines are the same as the 5 yr old model. I love this binocular because when you lift it to you head it's almost like a light is on in the binocular. The clarity is great and field of view is wonderful on the 8X42. I love it for birding and any other extracurricular activity!
