Summary: "It just works"
Comment: Exceeds the performance of any ear-based device currently on the market. The key is the in-line speaker bud and it's proximity to the mouth when the earpiece is inserted into the ear. No other device can match the distortion free clarity of this design. In fact, I feel that it's less obtrusive than the large "look-at-me" cauliflower styles that designer's keep porting to the masses. Yes, I could do without the large blue beacon but still.

Summary: WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
Comment: I CHOSE THIS DEVICE BECAUSE OF PRICE AND WHAT THE DESCRIPTION SAID IT WAS CAPABLE OF. I EXPECTED MORE FROM MOTOROLA. I THOUGHT I COULD LISTEN TO MUSIC ON IT, BUT I CAN NOT. IT ALSO DROPS CALLS AND CONNECTIVITY FOR NO REASON.

Summary: Improvement over the HS850
Comment: I have previously used five other Motorola bluetooth headsets. I started with a HS820, while it was quite comfortable to wear, people often had a hard time hearing me with its total lack of a boom microphone. I next used two HS810 units, then two HS850s. The longer boom made them somewhat better for picking up my voice, but the perforated "skirt" that seals the earpiece to the ear has an annoying habit of tearing off, making them uncomfortable and making it much harder to hear the caller's voice. The only reason I can see for the perforation of the "skirt" is to make them fail, a very annoying feature.

The HS830 eliminates this problem, but to maximize voice pickup, the ear bud is best placed in my left ear with the microphone portion of the cord resting upon my chin. The ear bud/ mic cord is a little short for this arrangement. So far it seems far more durable than the "on ear" designs.

An ideal design would probably have the LED control from the HS820 (lights up solid when talking), and a long, skinny mic boom that extends all the way to the mouth, for better voice pickup, like some of the Plantronics headsets that are designed for telemarketers.

All of these bluetooth headsets could all use higher volume capabilities for the ear speaker. The slightest amount of background noise means holding the headset tightly to the ear to hear better. That takes the "hands free" feature away, annoying while driving.

Summary: Hmm
Comment: Not exactly what i was hoping for, it is handy however the battery doesn't last as long as you'd expect...

Summary: complaints of audibility
Comment: I love the lanyard and the earpiece (even though it looks kinda dorky w/ the flashing Motorola logo facing out), but (1) my phone (also a motorola) doesn't automatically detect it when it's on [maybe I'm doing something wrong, but if I am there are no instructions as to how to do it right]; (2) my friends often complain that they can't hear me very well when I'm using this bluetooth device .... so I end up not using it very much! Boo hoo
