This is exactly the same size as a "40 gallon" that I had previously purchased from another manufacturer. Standard lawn garbage bags fit snugly in it. It makes emptying the grass bag on the lawnmower very easy. Also handy for parties and other outdoor events. Once the garbage bag is full, just push the bucket down and lock it and then you can easily remove the bag.
