Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Great value, nice appearance Comment: When compared to other products which can be astonishingly expensive (such as the Vista line), this is a very good set of lights at a very good price. I really like the quality of the light that these units give off, it's a warm glow and I'm really happy with the overall effect. The lights themselves are well constructed and the key parts are made of high quality metal. The plastic connectors however are a little flimsy and I've had to dig up the wires to reinforce the connectors a few times. I wish the lights were a little bit brigher although comparatively, these lights are pretty bright when compared to most other company's low-voltage products. Also, the transformer doesn't have a very high capacity to add that many more lights so if you have a pretty big yard and need more lights in the future, then you might want to opt for a kit with a larger transformer. I've had to replace mine for a more powerful unit when I added more lights. Would have prefered that they worked on photo cell vs timer. Customer Rating: Summary: Terrific Product Comment: I installed these myself with very little effort, just some digging for the wires. The lights are high quality--heavy metal and well constructed. They sit deep in the ground, don't move and I have not had to change any one of the bulbs yet (over three months). The timer box needs to be right near an outlet, and if you are running the lights in a long sequence, you will probably need to buy more cable, but you can buy a small clip to join the cables. Only small complaint--the timer occasionally "slips" and thinks it is earlier than it is thus the lights don't come on until later than they are set for. Not a big deal. Customer Rating: Summary: Malibu landscape Lighting Comment: I am very pleased with this product. As the fixtures are metal, they are much more durable than the plastic ones. Although the metal fixture sets are more expensive, it is worth the added expense. My previos experience with plastic landscape fixtures is that from weather & time, the become deteriorated within a few years, or damaged and inoperable. The installation is basically straight forward and instructions very clear. If you are able to use basic hand tools, you will have no problem installing this product. I initially purchased two of these sets and installed both within a few hours. Once I viewed the results, I was very pleased with the appearence. In fact, I also purchased a third set, several deck lights, flood lights, and photo eyes to incorporate into the landscape lighting. The three transformers are rated at 363 wattscombined and the total wattage of lights used 300 watts. IThe lights are set up to operate approximately 10-12 hours per day if it is dark. At this point it has only added roughly $8-$10 per month to our power bill. This additional expense is well worth it for the improved aesetics & security the lighting provides. More Reviews
