Summary: Shoddy Product
Comment: I really enjoy satellite radio and the Starmate worked fairly reliably for the first year. It would occasionally lose its connection with the satellite antenna and display the "not connected" alert. Over time, the connection became more and more intermittent to the point of being unusable. For $100, I guess I didn't expect it to wear out so fast.

Summary: A very good Satellite radio from Sirius
Comment: I purchased this unit as a replacement for a Sportster 5 Sirius Satellite radio that recently ceased functioning.
This unit is smaller, more compact and in fact, more attractive than the Sportster 5.
It has all the features I want on a Satellite radio, that being a fully functioning remote, 44 minutes of replay, game day alert (will automatically tune in your favorite sports teams broadcasts) and save your favorite songs into memory (you can program this unit to alert you to when any of up to 20 favorite songs are being played on any of the 100+ channels of commercial free music.
About the only negative on this unit is that the screen is somewhat smaller, making it a little more difficult to read than my old unit, however this is not a major detraction from this otherwise well made product.
Conclusion:
If you love satellite radio and the variety that Sirius provides in music, news, sports etc. then this is a unit that offers a lot towards fulfilling your car radio needs.

Summary: Sirius Starmate - great product
Comment: The product arrived on time and brand new. The price was very good and it has operated very well as expected. I chose this specific model to match the docking in a few other cars so I was limited in what I wanted but I am very happy with it and it's performance.

Summary: Nice, but not perfect
Comment: After having my Sirius Starmate 2 for 2 years, I made the purchase of the Starmate 4 after I had the Starmate 2 stolen out of my car. The biggest improvement of the S4 was the docking station, which makes taking the receiver with you a snap, which was a drastic improvement over the Starmate 2, where you had to unplug/plug in the power and antenna cords, as well as fumble with locking/unlocking the receiver into place on its mounting bracket. I also liked the inclusion of the vent holders, although they could have made them a little sturdier. But since I usually use the remote, it's not that big of an issue as I'm not physically handling the receiver and can knock it around.
I have noticed that it takes longer for the receiver to establish a signal, although I don't know if the fact that I have it plugged into my aux port to create a better connection as opposed to the wireless option, which lets you get your signal over a radio frequency, as I had with the Starmate 2. As with the Starmate 2, the jump button on the remote/receiver seems to serve little to no effect, and would seem to have made more sense to turn that into a recall/last channel option.
At any rate, I'm happy with the product overall. I'll never go back to listening to terrestrial radio again, that's for sure.

Sirius Starmate 4 Replay with car kit is the latest in the popular line of Starmate receivers. It has a large wide-screed LCD display, and the unit itself is slim, making it easily portable. Displayed on the screen will be the artist name, song titles, and up to 5 lines of text. The Starmate 4 replays up to 44 minutes of content and can pause, rewind, and fast forward.
