Summary: XP for MacOS X 10.5
Comment: I purchased this product to install it on my MacBook using Boot Camp. I carefully followed the Boot Camp Assistant instructions and successfully partitioned the disk and installed Windows XP without a glitch. To me this is the lowest cost way to have XP on an Intel based Mac if you can live with the hard boot required to switch between OSs.

Summary: Great service but not so great Windows
Comment: I ordered Windows XP and it arrived a lot sooner than expected. It was wrapped in its original packaging just like they said. However, after about 3 days it started to act weird. I have a Mac and am using bootcamp. So, when I would switch to Windows, a message would pop up and tell me it was unable to start Windows without a system check. Fortunately, the message stopped popping up a couple days later. I know that this isn't caused by the people I ordered Windows from; they were great! Just know that their may be errors after you install the disk.

Summary: Windows XP
Comment: I purchased this version of Windows XP to use with VM Ware Fusion. Everything was easy to install and I quickly updated XP to SP3. The software comes clean and free of any adware that you find in Sony Vaio or HP computers. If you need XP to run on your Mac this is a great way to run Windows through VM Ware of Parallels.

Summary: Pirated Software
Comment: I bought this software expecting to install it with no problem on my MacBook like others here have claimed. The package didn't include the Certificate of Authenticity (COA), so I called the retailer... they told me to contact Microsoft. So, Ted at Microsoft tells me that this is pirated software since it only costs $89. So, either Microsoft is completely nuts (probably true) or this software that Amazon and others are trying to sell is illegal.

UPDATE: I found the COA sticker in my trash can stuck to the shrink wrap. Problem is there's a note in the package that says "READ THIS FIRST" and has a diagram showing the COA is on the back of the manual. Ignore this note.

Summary: It's Windows XP SP2 - Any Questions?
Comment: Ok, like the title says; It's Windows XP SP2. So what don't we all know about it by this point in time?

Personally I prefer to use my Macs over my PC, but this purchase was for my dad so he could still use Quicken 2008 and Family Tree Maker on his new iMac. Neither of those programs are well represented on the Mac, so Dad prefers to use Parallels running Windows XP to use the versions from his newly retired Windows notebook. It's a workable but clumsy solution until better Mac versions become available.

There nothing new to say about Windows XP SP2 that isn't common knowledge now. It is less expensive to use for running VMs like Parallels because of Microsoft's greedy licensing of Vista that requires purchasing Vista Ultimate, the most expensive version of Vista ($219.99), to be permitted run Vista in a VM. I think that is shameless price gouging on Microsoft's part.

Editorial Reviews:

Windows® XP Home Edition gives you the freedom to experience more than you ever thought possible with your computer and the Internet.
