Customer Rating: Summary: Not comfortable, not great sound Comment: I use my Bluetooth for work every day, and so I did a lot of research when it came time to replace my 2-year-old Jabra after its battery died. I decided on Plantronics Voyager 855 but have not been at all happy with it. It does not feel secure in my ear, and the sound quality for those I am calling is demonstrably worse than on the Jabra. In all, it's very disappointing, especially as I had imagined a jump in quality over a 2-year-old product.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Customer Service, Good Product Comment: The mic wasn't producing enough volume, as in, people couldn't hear me.
After a series of questions with Plantronics, they asked me to return it to Amazon, since I had purchased it within 30 days. Amazon offered to refund my money or send me a new one within the USA. But since I was no longer in the USA I opted to return it to Plantronics. They were AWSOME. Sent via post and the replacement arrived at my door, without having received the defective unit, the next day.
The new one works well, although I'm still trying to figure out the best fit among the three molded ear pieces and ear hoop. Had some initial pains getting it connected to my Lenovo T-60, but after downloading the latest bluetooth driver the mic worked, but still have to use the computer speaker. Also, still haven't got it to re-connect to my Treo and Lenovo T-60 if I go out of range or turn them off.
It does block out noise and I found it a little weird listening to music in the car with the ear piece all the way in.
Customer Rating: Summary: The headset not for your head Comment: I was not happy about this product. I gave it to my son and he hate it, too.
Customer Rating: Summary: Music through bluetooth headset, I'm sold! Comment: My Samsung SCH I760 easily links up with this device. This revolutionary headset has attributed to me setting aside my mp3 player. While the sound quality is good, but not great, the functionality to discreetly listen to music while on my break and being able to talk handsfree has easily made this bluetooth stereo headset a winner with me.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great headset, with a hefty price tag. Comment: Plantronics is recognized as a leader in the headset market, and rightfully so. The Vogayer 855 is a quality product, with a premium build and features. But this all comes at a premium price, as well.
Here are the positive aspects of the headset:
+ Great voice quality, both incoming and outgoing.
+ Small footprint, classy design. Extremely lightweight. You wouldn't notice this hanging on your ear, if it wasn't for the noise isolating earpiece.
+ Plethora of accessories. Various ear tips, from silicone to foam. Quality carrying pouch.
And now the cons:
- The biggest reason I purchased this headset was for the stereo capabilities. Not knowing at the time, more than anything else, this feature is really a gimmick. To begin with, your pairing device must support the A2DP Bluetooth profile. This was no issue for me, since both my Nokia E51 and Anycom USB Bluetooth Adapter do. Now, listening to music through my phone worked flawlessly, yet the biggest issue here is the sound quality. Don't think for a second this stereo headset will replace your regular wired headphones, because the quality is nowhere near even the cheapest headphones you might own. I'm not sure if this is Bluetooth's fault as a technology or Plantronics', but your music will sound tinny, dull and uninspiring. You're better off listening on your phone's speaker--yes, it's really that bad. As for voice calls, sure, you can hear in both ears, but it's not stereo, so what's the point? Now, I also had in mind listening to stereo music on my computer. But I was unable to get this feature functioning at all, since Vista needed new Bluetooth drivers which demanded me to install SP1, and trying to set it up in Ubuntu Linux was an incredibly involved process, that I just haven't taken the time to perform to this day.
- Price. I still think I wasted US$ 70 on this product, since the feature I was interested the most is faulty. I really believe the price is being pushed up simply because of the Plantronics brand name.
All in all, this is a superb headset with subpar stereo capabilities. I would hesitate purchasing another Plantronics product, and would need a lot of reassurance to what exactly I'm paying for.

Tune out the world, tune in full-spectrum stereo music and conveniently switch to calls on your music-enabled phone. Innovative stereo ear buds seal out noise and seal in sound for better listening, while AudioIQ technology two-way noise reduction improves call quality on both sides of the call. The sliding boom gets you closer to the microphone, so you are heard better than ever. Convenient one-touch buttons let you control calls and music from your headset. At only 15 grams, it's lightweight, comfortable and discreet. On the train, on the road, on the move - the Plantronics Voyager 855 Bluetooth headset is the perfect convertible for traveling life's highway. Compatible with the Samsung SPH-M300 and other models
