Customer Rating: Summary: Canon iP3500 doesn't print well from Picasa Comment: The Canon iP3500 is an impressive document printer and I'm pleased with that function. However pictures printed using the Picasa program and the iP3500 appear badly over-exposed and washed of color. I called Canon and the check-outs they had me perform were all good. Their view was that the problem was with Picasa.
As a test I printed the same picture using the Easy Photo-Print EX program supplied by Canon and using Picasa. Pictures printed on the iP3500 using EX were very good. The same picture printed on the iP3500 using Picasa appeared washed out as earlier decribed.
I repeated that test using an HP 5940 and the pictures from the EX and Picasa programs were equal and good.
I don't have any other photo programs to use for a similar comparison test and I don't know if this problem is unique to the iP3500 or to all PIXMA printers.
Customer Rating: Summary: Weak paper transport system Comment: Bought this printer for light home use because it was cheap and fairly small. After printing about 20 pages, it mangled a sheet. I pulled the jammed sheet out per the manual's instructions (it came out in one piece), but the fault light will not go out no matter what I do. The transport system is completely clear.
I'm kicking myself because I bought an extra set of ink cartridges with the printer, which are now useless. I never had a problem like this with any of my HP printers. Stay away from Canon.
Customer Rating: Summary: Canon Pixma iP3500 Photo Injet Printer Comment: The Canon iP3500 operates quickly, reliably and quietly. The separate ink tanks and print head features allow very economical printing. You merely replace the color ink tank you need. The separate inkjet printhead is easily cleaned and reused. The photo quality is very good with various standard paper sizes offered. I especially appreciate its print speed, cost of operation and efficient paper handling. I have used laser, dot matrix and various inkjet printers. If you only have a choice of one printer, you cannot go wrong with this printer.
Customer Rating: Summary: Canon printer Comment: This is a terrific little printer for a very affordable price. It works well with Vista, which was a problem with my older HP printer. The photos turn out very well--it's also a fairly quick printer.
Customer Rating: Summary: Quick & Easy on a Mac Comment: The printer arrived, I installed the software on my iMac, the ink cartridges in the printer, selected the printer on my Mac and printed. Couldn't have been easier!

Advanced print head technology drives this printer's high performance, producing borderless photos with resolution up to 4800 x 1200 color dpi. You can create photos from credit-card size up to 8.5" x 11", and your documents will feature bold, laser-quality text. It's fast, too: A beautiful 4" x 6" borderless print takes only about 47 seconds. For convenience, you can print photos directly from digital cameras, DV camcorders and even camera phones; and, the two paper trays let you store photo paper and plain paper, so you're always print-ready.
