Customer Rating: Summary: Fun in the Dungeon Comment: I found this movie to be a lot of fun. A lot of action. The plot had a few turns and made it interesting. I liked it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Don't waste your time or $$ Comment: I really like Jason Statham but this movie is a complete waste of time unless you're like an 11 year old boy and your parents let you watch
PG-13 movies. I can't think of anything positive to write about it.

Customer Rating: Summary: "This movie is so unbelievably bad that I have to break it down into parts for this review. " Comment: It's more entertaining then a blank screen.
Seemed interesting at start with the special effects. You lost me at "lizard" people in 1970s costumes.
Excessively cliche.
Good story though. Good cast. Cool ideas. I really wanted to like this money and that i was awesome in the first few minutes.
Shame on the producer. He had good talent (cast), idea, money... wtf?
Customer Rating: Summary: A Highly Underrated Movie Comment: I got In the Name of the King as part of a recommendation from a friend, I didn't expect much and I knew nothing about the negativity surrounding it. I have to say going into it, I didn't expect a blockbuster as I'd never heard of it but was surprised to see the A List cast in this movie. Statham, Liotta, Reynolds & Perlman are three names from past, present and future and all blend together to make this movie enjoyable.
The story goes that an evil sorcerer named Gallian (Liotta) controls an evil race of half animal half human warriors. He sets to use these creatures to take over the Kingdom, but he sets upon the wrong person and due to an attack on a village the son of Farmer (Statham) is killed and his wife is kidnapped. Farmer sets out to get revenge against Gallian but first he has to track him down with friends Bastian (Sanderson) & Norick (Perlman). Along the way we're also introduced to the accomplice of Gallian, Duke (Lillard) who's one of the more eccentric characters and adds to it the comic relief.
You can clearly see that this movie is aspiring to be a Lord of the Rings type movie with the mythical monsters and magic. It was never meant to be, however, due to the fact that it had nowhere near a LOTR budget and the fact it was a Uwe Boll movie. With what they had they did brilliantly and personally this was Stathams best performance to date.

Jason Statham fights for family and country in this sword-and-sorcery adventure adapted from the popular Dungeon Siege video game by notorious B-movie jack-of-all-trades Uwe Boll. After Statham (a farmer named Farmer) loses his wife (Claire Forlani) and son to the monster troops of wicked sorcerer Ray Liotta (just one of the film's many eccentric casting choices), he trades in his plowshare for a sword to administer some medieval justice. Meanwhile, Liotta is hard at work at unseating aging king Burt Reynolds and replacing him with his foppish nephew (Matthew Lillard). Eventually, Statham is joined in his quest by veteran warrior Ron Perlman and the father-daughter wizard duo of John Rhys-Davies and Leelee Sobieski, but audiences may be lost by then; In the Name of the King is far too poorly paced and written to merit its 127-minute running time (and the American version is shortened by 30 minutes!), despite some energetic battle scenes choreographed by Tony Ching (House of Flying Daggers). Those amused by Boll's campy productions may find some humor in Kristanna Loken's vine-swinging jungle girl, or in the performance by Lillard, who seems determined to enjoy himself at all costs. --Paul Gaita
