Customer Rating: Summary: I wasn't ready for it to be over. Comment: This was a great season with new characters that were nice additions to the cast. Unfortunately the writers strike prevented a complete season and there are only about half as many episodes as there should be. Fortunately the manufacturers didn't rob consumers of their right to pay for a full season.
If I'd have paid half price for this half season I'd have given five stars.
Customer Rating: Summary: Quite Possibly, the Best Half-Season Ever (no spoilers) Comment: If you are into brutal action, seat-of-your-pants suspense, unexpected twists and turns every 5 or 10 minutes, get this set, block a couple of weekend nights and watch it. My wife and I couldn't stop watching. In fact, we gobbled up all 13 episodes over 2 nights and, when it was all over, we felt like we wanted more.
Michael is a different man in Season 3. Now, he is physically exhausted and emotionally drained, not sick but definitely tired. In Season 1, he generally knew what and whom he was facing; it was he who decided who were his friends, his allies, his enemies. He had studied their biographies and he was totally familiar with the environment and he knew exactly what to expect. He had a well-thought plan and he was implementing it. In 'Season 2' he was still following the plan but his control was slipping. By 'Season 3', he has to live with the consequences of his actions - people have died, people got hurt and more are dying and are getting hurt as the tale is told - and he is trying to make sense of his immediate environment (the prison) and those who are pulling the strings and seem to be in control (the Company). We see him tired, desperate, remorseful, doubting himself, sometimes unable or simply refusing to make sense of it all and yet hopeful, seeking some balance between the brutal world in which he has to survive and his desperate struggle to preserve his humanity.
This is the most testosterone-oozing, adrenalin-laced, action-packed TV show - and I could include 'movie' - I've seen in a long time and, possibly of all times. Think 'The Dirty Dozen' or 'The Great Escape' on steroids and uninhibited.
I am not going to give away any spoilers but, if you are going to watch this set, be prepared to for male bonding, explosive violence, brutality (they are not the same), torture (yes, waterboarding too), betrayal, barehanded fights to the death, stabbings, humiliation, sewer-level filth, desperation, blackmail, blood, mud, sweat, deception, mystery, misery, beheadings, execution-style killings, loyalty, fear, starvation, drug addiction, sweat, pain, just to name a few of the included attractions. You are NOT going to see: romantic kisses, bedroom scenes, shower scenes, sensitive metro-sexuals, preaching feminists, starry nights, fast cars, swimming pools or electronic gadgets.
Off the 4 women of this season we have one that's dead, a desperate prostitute, an absolute evil (but super-great looking) gargoyle and a naive but not exactly a shrinking violet, betrayed, girlfriend. I am not trying to even begin to portray 'the men'.
- The pluses - see above.
- The minuses - since we never 'watch TV', we are going to have to wait for one full year before we can lay our hands on 'season four'.
Customer Rating: Summary: Highly Recommended! Comment: As with seasons one and two, this season truly does not disappoint. It picks right up where the second season stopped and continues until the 13th and final episode of season three. I believe that Prison Break is truly right up there with Lost and Heroes as being one of the best shows on television. With season four debuting on Sept 1st, do not hesitate to pick this one up. The HD video and audio are out of this world! Highly Recommended.
Customer Rating: Summary: One of the best shows on fox Comment: Prison Break season 3 starts off after what happened at the end of season 2.
Michael is in Sona, one of the hardest, toughest, prisons in the world. He was brought there by "The Company" to break someone else out of prison.
This season shows this from beginning to end.
Sadly, this show was still getting worked on during the writers strike, because of this we only have 13 episodes. But those 13 episodes shine, they shine really bright.
Each episode leaves you at the end dying to know what is going to happen next.
When this season was airing, because of the strike, I was unable to view the season in its entirety due to the schedule being moved around constantly, I was never able to keep track on the last few episodes.
So when I picked this up on blu-ray, I was eagerly awaiting my chance to finish watching this season.
Even though I have previously seen the first few episodes of this season, it did not stop me from being completely engrossed and hooked on each and every episode. I noticed more stuff than I did the first time through when it aired.
This season is brutal, it does not let up. The show looks amazing, the flashbacks especially.
The image is picture sharp, better than season 1, and very sharp throughout. It looks better than most movies, and I would rather watch season 3 of Prison Break than most any movie any day.
The price may seem high, but your getting what would amount to 6 movies, when you look at it that way, it is quite cheap.
This show is much better than most movies, and well worth the time and price. I highly recommend this purchase.

Customer Rating: Summary: What the F###!!!???? (spoilers, don't read if you haven't watched) Comment: Okay, WOW... I don't know which is worse... the fact that they're charging for a FULL SEASON (a-la Season 1 & 2) while there's only 13 Episodes (thanks for Nothing "writers".... can't they get "scabs" like any other occupation would do!?)........ OR....... the fact that they made the most Disgusting, and HORRIBLE decision of the Series... when they KILLED OFF SARAH!!!??? Okay, I take it back... it's obvious which is worse... BRING BACK SARAH!!... Come on, we're willing to believe it was just a "Sarah look-a-like" or even a "FX" Sarah-Head in the basket! (PS: I don't blame her for not wanting Anything to do with Season 3... If I were her, I'd have told them to shove it.... this is why in all the "sarah" scenes, you never see even the SIDE of her face -- always from behind... and as soon as I caught on to it (1st Episode like that), I knew her character was on borrowed time.)
Seriously though, what is the deal with the Writers & their HATRED of the leading ladies on this show!? (Veronica Donovan: season 1.... Sarah Tancreti: season 3 --- yes, I'm sure I've mispelled it --- who cares.) And they've "replaced" her now with the X-Lover of the CIA Agent (who isn't even a TENTH as hot as Sarah!).... and us "Guys" are suppose to drool over who, now??
All in all, even without the death of Sarah, season 3 wasn't nearly as good as 1 or 2. Much of it just wasn't at all plausible (Michael's daring feats inside the jail... getting the "supplies" to carry off said missions, etc. etc. --- SONA isn't Fox River... there's no Pharmacy, Chemical & What-Not Storage Rooms, etc. for him to break into (or buy from) in order to pull off his plans... most of them, totally on the fly!) I found myself asking the same question over & over... How can they expect... putting this delicately... the more Intellectual Viewers (especially those of us with Common Sense!)... to go along with his schemes & scams!? I don't know -- I was taken out of the action quite a bit just by the sheer nonsense of it sometimes; & thankfully I'm not alone in this feeling/opinion on those episodes.
Season 3 gets a 3, Star rating that is.... for lack of believeability, lack of episodes.... and especially for the Bone-Headed decision to kill Sarah! (to make it a real thriller & mystery... they could've simply removed her from the room where she & LJ were... kept the camera on LJ in the room... & then, BANG!, a gunshot...... is Sarah dead?... We're led to believe she is... especially when they provide a well made-up picture for the Brothers, head-wound & all (w/ FX Make-Up & Digital Imaging, etc.)...... but is she REALLY dead... no one knows..... then Michael, assuming she's dead... sets out on the same Revenge mission (aka, Season 3 Finale)... and at the end of Season 4, or 5, or even the End of the Series... SHE'S ALIVE!, they reunite (after killing his way to the truth, to find her)... and they live happily ever after.
See, I'm not a "Professional" writer; but I just gave them the scenario AMERICA would want to see happen.... and the Plot, Events prior & up to, didn't even have to change! But no, rather than be a little CREATIVE & IMAGINITIVE... they go with the simplistic, kill 'em all attitude. I realize this isn't Disney, and there are rarely "happy endings" in the real world.... but come on Writers, & Producers.... Sarah NOT dying is a scenario that should've been Fought LONG & HARD for! (and there's always the angle of the bad guys chopping off one of her fingers & saying, next time you screw with us - it'll be the whole arm.... but no... kill all the women) Well, I know I'll catch hell for saying this in the "comments"; but since Sarah died.... LJ should go too at some point... at least her acting never brought down a scene!
