They do not smell as they are named or smell at all. I worry that by opening and closing the lids too often would make the cheap plastic hinge break. Maybe good for a young kid that isn't too small that would swallow them. This would make a cheap and cutesy stocking stuffer. Very disappointed about the lack of scent.
